Let me explain the commission a little bit, as you can see on the above screenshot, there are four categories of products that you can sell on Jumia, with commission ranging from very low to high.

Looking at the commission structure, you’ll see that if you buy something for someone in Lagos, Abuja or Ibadan the commission will be lower than if you buy something for someone in other cities.

FAQs

What can I sell?

As an agent, you can sell anything that is available on Jumia website or Jumia pay. They presently have well over 10,000,000 products on the website to buy from.

How much can I make?

There’s no restrictions to the amount of money you can make as an agent. The sales commission you get at the end of the month is solely based on the sales of products you find on Jumia’s website and Jumia pay.

How can i buy or order for someone with my account?

Place an order on the Jumia website or app, on behalf of one of your customers, you can decide to put your address or the address of the person you’re buying for, using the same account as the one you used to sign up to the JForce program. The products then get delivered to your customer, after the user receives the product you’ll receive your commission.

Can i earn commission if I order for myself?

Of course, you’ll get a commission, it doesn’t matter if you order for yourself or another person. Just ensure you login with your Jforce account while ordering products on Jumia.

I haven’t received my commission what is wrong?

Commissions are paid only for items that have attained the status Completed (DELIVERED FINAL).

For an item to attain the status completed (DELIVERED FINAL), it must has reached 15 days after the day it was delivered to the buyer (either to you or your customer)

How are commissions paid?

Commissions are paid on or before the 15th of the next month for orders placed the previous month, to the bank account you submitted on your dashboard. Payments for sales in the current month will be made on or before the 15th of the following month, for all orders that completed the 15 days delivered final timeline in the previous month. E.g October Sales will be made on or before the 15th of November.

What are super deals?

Super deals are items you see on Jumia that have high discount like -50%, so if you buy these kind of products for someone, the commission you supposed to earn will be divided in half, this means you’ll get 50% of commission earned from that sale.

So let’s say you bought a smartphone of N100,000 for someone and the phone had a high discount while you purchased it, instead of getting 1.50% * N100,000 which equals N1,500, you’ll get 750 Naira for the sale.

What are the different JForce levels?

Probation

  • Probation is the default level once you sign up for jforce, once you order 5 items, that attains the status “Completed” in a single month, you’ll get promoted to bronze.

Captain

  • Captain is the last and final level you can attain as a Jumia agent.

What’s the difference between B2C and B2B?

On Jforce B2C (business to customer) are orders you make on a unique product that are less than or equal to 19 units or less than or equal to 600,000 naira.

This simply means that if you order 19 unit or less of a unique product on Jumia at once, or the order is less than 600,000 Naira in total, then you’re in the B2C range.

While

While B2B (business to business) means that you order 20 or more unit of a unique product on Jumia at once, or that the total price of the product(s) is more than 600,000 Naira.

What does unique product mean?

A unique product can be identified using it’s SKU (Stock-keeping unit) code, For example if you look at the two phones below, they are been sold on different pages, with different specs, but if you check their SKU, it’s the same.

Meaning that, products that have the same SKU can be classified as the same product, no matter whether they are on different sales page, so if you order the first phone 10 pieces and the second one 10 pieces, the order will be counted as B2B, because it equals 20 pieces of the same product (SKU).

How to find the SKU of a product?

Screenshot of messages i received for just a single product listed on Marketplace.

Becoming a Jumia Force Agent is one thing, but actually selling products so you can make money is another thing entirely, so i will give you a quick guide on how to use facebook as your shop to market and sell.

Firstly, I will assume that you have an active facebook account that shows your face and command trust, this is very important because if your account looks shady, no one will buy from you.

Now follow the steps below to list your products on facebook marketplace.

1. Go to Jumia website and find any Product you want to sell.

2. Now go to your facebook and locate “marketplace” on the menu and click on it.

6. Go back to Jumia and copy the tittle of the product, now go to facebook and paste the tittle, you can adjust it a little to your own taste.

7. Check the price of the product, and fill. You’re at liberty to set whatever price you feel, just make sure it’s reasonable for the product you want to sell and at least you make a little profit off it.

8. Back to the Product page on Jumia and copy the Product description, copy as much as possible, because it’s the description that will make people to show interest in what you sell, now go to facebook and paste it on the Product description field, edit it and make sure it reads well.

9. On condition of the product, select “New”.

10. Select a location that you want facebook to show your advertisement to, please note that any location you choose, facebook will mostly show your listing to people on that location.

11. You can choose to enable the “hide from friends” option, if you don’t want your product to be shown to your friends.

12. Check that everything looks good, click on “Next” at the top right corner and click on “publish”.

13. Facebook will review your listing and after some minutes, if it’s okay, they’ll approve it.

14. Your listing is now live on facebook, just relax and wait for messages from potential buyers.

15. The details you need from buyers are, the buyers exact location, name, and phone number. It’s very important to always confirm they’re all correct as it can cause problems when Jumia delivery agents tries to deliver to the buyer.

16. Once you agree the deal with the buyer, and you get the money to your bank account (Remember that you’re not doing pay on delivery) go to Jumia and Login with your Jumia Account (the one you used to register on JForce).

17. Go to the product page and order the product, I believe you know how to make orders on Jumia, when ordering, make sure to fill-in the buyer details correctly and continue to make payment.

18. Make sure you disclose delivery timeline to your buyer, most Jumia products normally arrive in 5-7 days.

Pro tip: Remember that you're not doing pay on delivery.
Secondly, you don't own the products you sell, so always check the product you're selling on Jumia from time to time to make sure that the price of the product has not increased past what is on your listing.
If it has increase, make sure to update your new price on your facebook marketplace dashboard, As always you're at liberty to set whatever price you feel, just make sure it's reasonable for the product you want to sell and at least you make a little profit off it.
